    PersonalHistoryHelp.com is operated and maintained by Old Willow Personal History, llc, which was created in July, 2000 for the purpose of helping people create and publish personal histories for themselves and others.

    

Amy Oaks Long, a manager and the principal owner of Old Willow Personal History, is an instructor of Family History at Brigham Young University. Amy has written many personal and family histories for family and clients, and has taught thousands of people how to begin writing their history. Amy is the Personal Historian Team Leader with FamilyLearn.com. She is a member of the Association of Personal Historians and is a frequent lecturer on beginning genealogy, as well as printing and publishing personal and family histories. She has an Associate of the Arts degree in Professional Genealogy, a Bachelor of the Arts degree in European Studies, and a Master of Library and Information Science degree, all from Brigham Young University.  Amy has sold over 3,000 copies of her "how-to" book, entitled From Shoeboxes to Books: Writing Great Personal Histories, which was revised and updated in November, 2005. 

Amy has been a guest on the television and radio program, "Questions and Ancestors" and has been featured in a Russian documentary about family history. Amy's most recently completed biography, Lorin Farr: Mormon Statesman, is now available in bookstores.

Amy gave two presentations at the November 2007 Association of Personal Historians Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

She is married to Lance Long, and they are the parents of five children. She resides in Eugene, Oregon, where she continues to write personal and family histories for clients.
